14/48 The World’s Quickest Theater Festival—Old School

Come and see Jennifer Jasper and a whole bunch of talented people do incredible things this weekend!

Tired of geezers always talking about how great things used to be and how easy you kids have it today? Or are you losing patience with wet-behind-the-ears whippersnappers with more hubris than experience trying to tell you what’s what? No matter on which side of the generational divide you fall, have we got some 14/48 for you.

14/48: The World’s Quickest Theatre Festival
Young Guns vs Old School
Cornish Playhouse • 201 Mercer St.
8pm and 10:30pm shows both nights

February 20 & 21 – all artists 35 or younger
February 27 & 28 – all artists older than 35

The challenge of the festival is the same. 14 plays written, cast, directed, rehearsed, scored, designed, and premiered in 48 hours by Seattle’s most daring theatre artists. But who will truly shine? Will it be the energy and exuberance of the Young Guns? Or the guile and wisdom of the Old School? You’ll have to watch both weekends and decide for yourself.

The 14/48 Projects produces all iterations of The World’s Quickest Theater Festival, Theater Anonymous, and many more social theatrical events in Seattle, and is developing an international network of 14/48 Festivals, with recent festivals in Leicester, England and Austin, TX. The 14/48 Projects Partner Program offers producing support to independent artists, recently helping send Jennifer Jasper’s Etymology to compete in the finals of (and win!) The Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival and launching Rachel Atkins Voyage for Madmen.
