I’m sprinting to the 2014 finish line, ready to high dive right into 2015. What an amazing year this has been! I’ve still got hurdles to jump over before the December 31.
My new short play “Destination Unknown” will be read on Saturday, December 13 (yeah, tomorrow) as a part of Live Girls! Theater. Plus, I had the pleasure of directing for Live Girls’ Quickies 15 earlier this year.
On Sunday I get to spend the day in filming for Wes Hurley’s web series Capitol Hill Season 2 where I play Malvita, a nun caught up in some very nasty business with some of the funniest performers in Seattle.
Next Wednesday, December 17, is one of my favorite “Family Affair—Cabaret Served up Family Style” shows at the JewelBox Theater. It will be our second Holiday Edition with some of my favorite local performers. And finishing up my December will be The 14/48 Projects B-Sides and Rarities at West of Lenin on Monday, December 22. I will be doing a holiday story of my own and my wife Kathie will be leading the Jolly Hollies—a festive all-girl band.
Looking ahead to 2015 is daunting and exciting and I’m anxious to get there. I begin with a new solo show “Bullygirl” as part of Radial Theater Project’s Locally Grown Festival in January and February at New City Theater. Kathie and I will continue to produce “Family Affair” every third Wednesday and help out local artists. Most of my time will be spent working on “Pressing Matters,” my evening of new short plays that will premiere in NYC with MBL Productions some time in late-2015 or early-2016.
This year was a life-changing year and I’d like to thank every single person who I worked with, collaborated with, created with, ate with, danced with, laughed with, cried with, improvised with, argued with, held hands with, remembered with, became friends with and celebrated with.
Happy Holidays and see ya on the flip side!
